Frequently Asked Questions
Sizing & Customization
We get it, sizing is not always quite as straightforward when shopping online. Don't worry, we got you. Since each piece is unique, there is product specific sizing info on each garment page under the sizing tab.
If unsure of sizing, please select the size you believe you are closest to and then include your measurements (bust, waist, hip, height) in the order note section of the cart page and we will double check that the size you selected is correct and/or if you need any customizations made from our base size.
If you still have questions, don't hesitate to email hello@cedarandvine.net for a sizing recommendation.
None of us fit neatly into one size from head-to-toe, so we offer fit customization at no extra cost. Our made-for-you approach gives you the freedom to alter pieces for that just-right fit.
We’ll help you with base size selection and taking your own measurements, then create a personalized digital pattern that reflects your preferences. Your pattern is saved for future orders, so it’s ready and waiting as you grow your collection.
We offer customizations to any of our base styles. These include (but are not limited to):
- lengthening/ shortening garment inseam, torso length, sleeve length, etc
- customizing garment shape to body measurements
- adding/ removing sleeves
- making a style breastfeeding friendly
Many other customizations can be accommodated and we encourage you to reach out if you have any questions as to how we can customize a style.
No. Everyone deserves to have great fitting clothing and we believe it is worth the extra effort.
The only time we would have to charge extra is if the customization required substantially more material. For example if you wanted a top lengthened into a dress.
Yes. Unless you are ordering from our ready-to-ship section; all garments are made-to-order, even if you are ordering a base size w/o any customizations.
We do not offer fully custom garments. Although we would love to, our team does not have the time resources to dedicate to the pattern making involved with fully customized styles.

Brand Info
At Cedar & Vine, slow fashion is at the very core of our brand philosophy and practices. We believe that clothing should be made with care, consideration, and a focus on sustainability.
For us, slow fashion means stepping away from the fast-paced, disposable nature of the fashion industry. It's about embracing a more intentional approach to design and production, where quality and longevity take precedence over fleeting trends. We strive to create timeless pieces that withstand the test of time, both in terms of style and durability.
In practical terms, slow fashion means utilizing all-natural fibers, which offers exceptional comfort, versatility, and a lower environmental impact compared to synthetic materials. We choose fabrics that are free from synthetic coatings or finishes, allowing them to naturally biodegrade when their lifecycle eventually comes to an end.
Slow fashion means rejecting the concept of mass production and excessive inventory. We operate on a made-to-order basis, crafting garments specifically for each customer. This approach not only eliminates the waste associated with overproduction but also ensures that every piece is tailored to the individual's measurements and preferences.
We are committed to supporting fair and ethical manufacturing practices. Our garments are lovingly crafted by our small team, under one roof - fostering a positive and sustainable impact on our local communities.
Slow fashion, to us, is about conscious consumption and mindful choices. It's about investing in quality pieces that you truly cherish, reducing waste, and minimizing our ecological footprint.
Why linen? We adore linen for its exceptional qualities. It's incredibly durable, retaining its shape and getting even softer with age. Linen is easy to care for, machine washable, and doesn't require excessive ironing.
With its breathable and hypoallergenic properties, linen keeps you comfortable year-round. This versatile fabric effortlessly complements any occasion, allowing for endless styling possibilities.
Moreover, linen is sustainable, recyclable, and biodegradable, making it an environmentally conscious choice.
Ultimately, we choose linen for its timeless beauty, durability, and lasting comfort!

Frequently Asked Questions
Garment Care
Caring for your linen items is easy! You can hand or machine wash them in cold water with gentle detergent. Tumble drying on a low setting helps soften the linen.
Most of our products are pre-washed to prevent additional shrinkage. For tailored garments, like lined jackets and coats, dry cleaning is recommended.
Wrinkles are part of linen's natural charm, but if you prefer a pressed look, use a medium-heat iron or a garment steamer. Hanging your linen item in a steamy bathroom can also help remove wrinkles. Our Linen Spray is a great way to freshen up and soften wrinkles on natural fiber garments and bed linens, and it's especially handy for traveling.
All our knits are pre-washed to prevent additional shrinkage. You can hand or machine wash them with detergent. Tumble dry on a low setting.
The lifespan of your Cedar & Vine garment depends on various factors, including the style, the fit, your lifestyle, frequency of wear, and how well you care for it.
At Cedar & Vine, we prioritize the use of natural fibers (primarily linen) without any synthetic coatings or finishes. Our conscious selection ensures that our garments minimize their impact on landfills, oceans, and the environment. However, it's important to note that natural fibers may naturally wear with time, unlike synthetic materials or chemically treated fibers.
Under typical wear conditions, our garments are designed to last for years with proper care. However, certain factors, such as wearing a garment that is excessively tight, subjecting delicate fabrics to harsh conditions, frequent high-temperature washing, infrequent washing, or improper storage, can contribute to premature wear.
We believe in creating products that blend both quality and sustainability. While our garments are not intended to last forever, we embrace the philosophy that responsible consumption means valuing the lifecycle of our clothing. Any manufacturing defects or damages are typically apparent upon arrival. If you notice any issues with your item upon receipt, please inform us immediately, and we will address them right away. Furthermore, if you feel that your garment is exhibiting premature wear after owning it for some time, please email us, and we will be happy to assist you.
At Cedar & Vine, we are committed to offering timeless garments that reflect your personal style while reducing our environmental impact.
We currently don't offer repairs in house, but we are more than happy to provide off-cuts for patching. Reach out to us via email hello@cedarandvine.net with the color you need and your current mailing address. We will send you material for patching and mending.
